MozyHome - The best way to backup your data
Every single computer user has some iportant data. Have you ever imagined, what happens, when your HDD crashes? Yeah, all your pohotos, docs, music lost. So, what is the keyword? Backup. Backup, but where? Is there any great solution? It has to be! Optical disks, such as CD, or DVD not are the best. Theese storages like the old floppy disks. All falis, it's just a question of time.
Well, in 2007 try to use the internet as a backup "device". There is a cool solution, I've found it today.
Let me introduce Mozy. This service is not a file sharing community, it's a backup tool. As a basic user they give you some free storage - 2 GigaBytes. When you refer friends, you'll give an extra +256MB storage for every referred user. Good news, Mozy is quite cheap. They provide you unlimited data storage just for $4.95/month. I think is really cheap, but I recommend a VERY high speed internet connection. Your upload line will burn! :)
So, how it works?
First, register. Try basic, or the unlimited, whatever. You'll have to download a client program (it is also available for Win and Mac, Linux is not supported yet), select the directories what you want to backup, and start the sync. The program uses data encryption, so don't worry about data-stealing, etc.
After, your files loaded, the client program keeps the content synced. For example, if you choosen your Pictures folder for backup, and you upload some new photos from your camera to your PC, the Mozy client will automatically upload the new stuff.
The backuped data can be restored from the web-interface, or by using the client program.
I think, for DSL users could be a good feature to limit the upload speed - the browsing won't slow, but the client do its job in the background.
I recommend you to use Mozy. Remember, prevention is better than cure.

My fav visual style on Windows - areao4
Here we go again! Let's see some creepy content on the site. First of all, it's gonna be a review, or something... My fav one is the areao4.2 by *heylove. I try to keep my desk clean, and minimalistic. Always hated icons, but never changed them. There's only reason: I can't find any applicaton so fast if their icons are changed. The point was to turn the workplace the biggest possible, and with this style, it works, and also looks cool! Yeah, it's not a glossy one, but who cares? Did you see Ubuntu with Beryl? And Vista? Those flishy-flashy styles? Damn, so disgusting! These stuff looks useful but this is not the truth.
Follow the points to change your desk's availability to the maximum:
1. use areao4.2 visual style
2. use a clean wallpaper which doesn't contain too much... erm.. stuff you know :D
3. use your FULLY CLEAN desktop as a temporary folder
4. store your shortcuts at the start menu
5. turn on "Clear Type" effects, its even looks great on CRTs too
6. change your mouse cursor to black
7. and of course use Tahoma as default font.
Maybe you have to patch your Windows before using this theme. All you have to do is replace the "uxtheme.dll" at \windows\system32\ and \windows\system32\dllcache.
Download the patch here.
The easiest way to replace this to grab a free Ubuntu Linux Live CD from Ubuntu's website burn the ISO, and boot with it. You can easily write your NTFS partition. Replace the two DLLs, reboot to Windows, copy the whole theme folder to your \windows\resoures\ folder, open the msstyle file with double click, and simply apply.
If something looks difficult, leave a comment.

New forum launched!
Hi guys! I just want to introduce the new 'change my desk' forum (and of course my poor english haha :D) I know this whole site is not so professional. The forum is located on a hungarian server, it costs nothing, and blogger engine costs nothing too. I just do this thing for fun. I hope you'll like it in the future, and I try to add more graphics a day. I also decided to add more content to the site. I mean, tutorials, some great and quaility visual styles, etc. All I want to publish quality work.
So, jump to he forum, and leave some post, what should and what I shouldn't to do.
